California Girl

The flight to San Francisco was a little more difficult than the one back home...thank goodness. Bryan and I flew there together so we were able to take turns with our active little toddler. She slept for a good portion of the flight home and was very calm the entire time she was awake. She was a good girl for Mommy!

Elyse got to met her Great Aunt Bridie this week and took to her instantly. We walked into the hotel lobby where Bridie was waiting for us with a beautiful green easter basket full of goodies and Elyse reached for her immediately. Aunt Bridie took her for her first dinner in North Beach's Little Italy. She gobbled up the bread (of course) and shared my Spaghetti alla Checca. I'm pretty sure the affection was mutual!

On our way back to the car, we stopped by one of our favorite bakeries in the area to pick up croissants for breakfast, a cannoli for Bryan and a cookie for Elyse. The cannoli and the cookie were quickly devoured! She wasn't going to share that with anyone!

Walking around Fisherman's Wharf with her fairy wand, talking out loud and pointing to every bird and puppy she saw.

All that walking, talking and house hunting is hard work! A quick power nap is needed here and there.

We spent a little while playing in Alamo Square. She went down a slide by herself for the first time and did not enjoy it. Elyse made friends with a couple of the local kids, especially a little boy named Noah. They chased bubbles together. So cute!

It was cold and windy but we had to take her to see the ocean for the first time. Despite the temperature, nothing beats the sound of waves crashing and that salt water smell.

Don't laugh at my ensemble! It was cold!

Elyse and I went shopping and had lunch in Union Square while Bryan worked. She loved watching all the birds "buh" and then got really excited and started pointing and saying "lala lala lala." When I looked, she was pointing to a small dog that looked just like Lola!

Just a quick clip of her walking around. She's doing so good!

  1. Wow! I have so much to say! First, the picture of her looking out the airplane window is adorable! Her cheek is pink and her ear is red...it looks like she just awoke from a nap. So sweet. Second, what a smart girl to recognize Lola and call her by name. Third, she's getting so good with walking. I can hardly believe it's the same girl who wouldn't walk in the grass. :)
