Happy 1st Birthday, Baby Bryn!

I can't believe it's been one year since Bryn was born! It has passed in the blink of an eye and so much has happened since this time last year. Bryn's birthday celebration lasted several days since her actual birthday fell on a Wednesday, Bryan's family all arrived in town on Thursday and we had her birthday party on Saturday. Birthdays are so much fun, why not draw them out as long as possible! That's always been my motto. If you are reading this post, be prepared for a lot of pictures. A girl's 1st birthday only happens once!

"It's Bryn's birthday! Hooray!!!" - Elyse

Bryn got her first pair of diamond earrings from her Uncle Chad and Aunt Amanda. Diamonds are her birthstone (and a girl's best friend) and will look beautiful on her tiny ears when we get them pierced.

She got her very own lady bug night light from Papa and Nana. Elyse is really excited about this gift as well because it means she doesn't have to share hers anymore.

One day we'll get a good family picture with everyone smiling and looking at the camera.

Vanilla Bean and Lemon cupcakes.

Bryn prefers to eat hers with a spoon.

So does Elyse.

Waiting, waiting, waiting on tippy toes for our company to arrive.

Bryn's Smash Cake

Lola is the ultimate photo bomber.

Elyse didn't want to be in any of the other pictures but then wanted some taken of only her. She's so silly!

All of the grandmas and Bryn managed to sneak in for one picture with Elyse.
Oh, and Lola too.

Time for presents. Bryn kept toddling off and Bryan kept bringing her back. We finally gave up and let Elyse open all of her gifts.

Elyse read all of the cards too.

 Happy birthday to you!

 Now smash!

Not sure how she feels about gooey frosting on her fingers.

A spoon is better, especially when you have your big sister feed it to you.

 Mmm, mmm, mmm!

I think she's probably one of the cleanest smash cake babies ever.

 One happy birthday baby!

 Beautiful Elyse.

After the cake, Bryn had a quick warm bath to get all cleaned up.

And then she started to crash from the sugar.

We had such a fun weekend with everyone. Much like the past year, it flew by but we are so grateful that we were able to celebrate such an important day with family. Bryn was surrounded by love and that was the greatest gift.
